Though we are currently on vacation with no intention of coming home, we'll be posting up some of our work from just before we caught the flight.
Hope you like it and keep an eye out for our other projects: The Left Outsides, and the See See Band (and m
Ah yes so in fact the previous episode description weas incorrect: "Tell Me Tommorrow" is in fact the song that started out as a 5/4 jam in the rehearsal studio. This version was recorded entirely in our rehearsal room and produced by Karl.
This started out musical life as "apocalypse in 5/4"; the riff coming from Richard and the song arranegd by the band over a series of rehearsals. Allison took time on the vocals, and her care shows, this is a heart breaking song.
had we not gone no permanent vacation; this may have been the first single from the unrealised album, possibly of the same name (or maybe tell me tomorrow). recorded with the lovely Brian O'Shaughnessy
Our next single (in the UK); available on iTu.nes now and in the stores from the 22nd May.

well kind of our signature tune I guess, and most often the set closer.
This is a great and extended version of Eighteen Days, with some stellar guitar work from Ben here, stopped only by Karl’s exhaustion.
The eighth and final installment from our Glasgow show, the last date on the road with Robyn Hitchcock and the Minus 5.
It was a great two weeks and thanks must once again go out to the wonderful Misters Robyn Hitchcock, Scott McCaughey, Bill Reiflin and Peter Buck in the band; and uncle Steve Brown, their guide and master for the tour.
Coming soon in our podcasts will be some demoes old and new.
Live version of Hide + Seek recorded on 30th January 2006 at Glasgow’s ABC whilst on tour with Robyn Hitchcock and the Minus Three (or The Minus Five + Two as they should be known). The penultimate selection from our glasgow set, and Richard’s best song off our first album; it’s not the greatest recording, but it’s a lovely song.
We got Pete Erchick and Bill Doss from the Olivia Tremor Control to help out on the album verion of the song when we supported them at the garage last year; and it’s going to be our next single.
Allison had known the Elephant 6 guys from her own time in Athens and Richard’s previous band, Sleeping Flies, recorded an album with Bill Doss at the helm.
Many of the Elephant 6 people are now involved in Orange Twin; and we heartily commend you thence to find out more about their good doings.
Live version of Flowers recorded on 29th January 2006 at Glasgow’s ABC whilst on tour with Robyn Hitchcock and the Minus Three (or The Minus Five + Two as they should be known).
The version of the song that we perform (and there have been several) is based on a poem by Jean Elliot in 1755; the tune being a traditional Scottish air of indeterminite age.
The poem itself commemorates the death of 10,000 Scottish men at the Battle of Flodden, September 9 1513.
Live version of Cold Early Morning recorded on 29th January 2006 at Glasgow’s ABC whilst on tour with Robyn Hitchcock and the Minus Three (or The Minus Five + Two as they should be known).
Cold Early Morning is our most recent single and comes with two great b-sides: the instrumental, Strings; and our version of the Brian Jonestown Massacre song, Dawn.

Live version of Deed I Do recorded on 29th January 2006 at Glasgow’s ABC whilst on tour with Robyn Hitchcock and the Minus Three (or The Minus Five + Two as they should be known).
The third installment from our glasgow show, The Quiet Joys of BrotherHood.
The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood was written by author and folk singer Richard Farina and performed by Richard and Mimi Farina, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention, Bert Jansch, Pete Seeger, Gene Parsons and Wendy Matthews. And for me, it's a beautiful song of man's despoiling of the earth and nature.
We've only heard the Fairport, Sandy and Richard and Mimi versions: Fairport's being kind of akin to the Velvet Underground in approach; with Sandy's own version stripped right back to the vocal; and Richard and Mimi's is darkly orchestrated with searing high strings and a woody acoustic bass.
In our version Mark's bass approaches you swarthily while Richard's acoustic guitar circles at a distance, guided by Allison's vocal and Alison's viola, before Ben get's to have some fun and Karl gets impatient with his sixteenths; HA HA!
There's a little deep feedback around 2 minutes in, but this is a good take - and HEY IT'S LIVE GODDAMIT!
See you next week for 'Deed I do and more gibberish.
