Show title Description Reviews
Appaloosa Podcast The spaghetti Western is back; this time with a simple but interesting story. Appaloosa has a great cast, moments of drama, humor and honor. Not as good as 3:10 to Yuma, but definitely a film for fans of this dying genre. 0
Flash of Genius Podcast Robert Kearns is an inventor whose new windshield wiper design got stolen by a big automaker company. Greg Kinnear does an excellent job as the dedicated inventor. Greg C and Nar loved the film. 0
House on Haunted Hill Podcast Starting no other than master of suspense Vincent Price. We were luck to catch a special screening of this black & white classic. The story involves an eccentric millionaire and his guests who are about to have a party in a so-called haunted house. This is the perfect B horror film from the 50s that relies on atmosphere and acting; rather than unnecessary gore. We recommend it. 0
Nights in Rodanthe Podcast Nights in Rodanthe is another lame “romantic” comedy by Richard Gere and the beautiful Diane Lane. This movie could have been sent straight to video, but surprisingly it did ok at the box office. We like chick’s flicks (there are good ones out there) but not this one. 0
Eagle Eye Podcast An action film with an excellent concept but poorly executed; Eagle Eye turns tedious and repetitive very fast. We both say “proceed with caution!” 0
Last Man on Earth Podcast A classic black & white film starring Vincent Price. 0
The Bride and the Beast Podcast This is an old film we say in our local theater recently. Ed Wood Jr. wrote the script! What else can we say from the master of the “B” films from the 1950s? If you like his “so bad its good” style of filmmaking, by all means, rent it or buy for just few dollars. 0
Burn After Reading An excellent comedy by Clooney and Pitt. 0
Lakeview Terrace Podcast Samuel L. Jackson does an excellent job as the dysfunctional cop in this suspenseful film. 0
Righteous Kill Podcast Another lame crime-cop/drama by Pacino and Deniro. "Bad Boys" for seniors. 0
Vicky Cristina Barcelona An excellent romantic drama by director and writer Woody Allen 0
Hamlet 2 Podcast A so-so comedy created by the South Park guys. We talked about some of the good things about the film, as well as the controversial ones. 0
Bangkok Dangerous Not so dangerous after all! A terrible film with bad action, acting and unintentional humor 0
Babylon A.D. Podcast Diesel is a mercenary who is hired to rescue a very special girl. This futuristic movie is so bad even the French director doesn’t want to know anything about it. 0
Death Race Podcast A feel-good action film. We love it! 0
Mirrors Podcast Despite being just another horror Asian remake. The film does have some good moments. 0
Tropic Thunder Podcast A Ben Stiller film, but the star of this comedy is Tom Cruise—believe it or not! 0
Pineapple Express Podcast Just like its comical predecessors, Pineapple Express will not disappoint fans of this new wave of comedy that Judd Apatow is part of—this time we get two friends who got mixed up with drug lords a la Dumb & Dumber. 0
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor There are things that should be left untouched—in this case, buried under the sand—for eternity. Despite the Hollywood “sequel” curse written in stone, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor rises, but fails to impress or entertain anybody. 0
Mama Mia Podcast Not as exciting as other musicals, Mama Mia is a film that few guys will like and many girls will love. 0
Step Brothers Podcast Just another bad comedy by Will Ferrell. 0
The X-Files II: I Want to Believe The Award-Winning TV Show The X-Files have seen better days. It was once a terrific sci-fi show that dealt with two FBI agents who worked together to solve paranormal cases, mostly related to aliens from other worlds and dimensions. But after a decade since the first film (and more than six years since the last season), the true twilight zone moment is the lack of imagination (or common sense) by the writers to come up with something interesting or halfway decent. 0
Hellboy II: The Golden Army Podcast An excellent sequel of the 2004 original, Hellboy: The Golden Army is another great film by Guillermo del Toro who has reinvented fantasy films by writing great stories, adding just enough action, creating interesting characters with state-of-the-art graphics and make-up. We are looking forward to see more of his fantastic films. 0
The Dark Knight Podcast The Dark Knight might go down in history as the most overrated film ever made—my other candidates are Titanic and Knocked Up—with so much unnecessary hype it’s sickening. Yes, it is a respectable film with good action sequences, philosophy and a late actor who gave an excellent performance, but it’s far from being the best superhero movie of the year (that title goes to Iron Man). 0
Hancock Podcast We say it all the time; Will Smith is a talented, charismatic and mesmerizing actor. But the issues with Hancock however, are the writers’ lack of imagination, the mixed signals about its genre, and an action director whose camera style is not suitable for this kind of film. In the end, Hancock is a movie that has a good movie star who delivers, but everything around him is tedious and uncreative—without him, it would be unwatchable. 0
WALL-E Podcast WALL-E is without a doubt, one of the best animated films ever. Its greatness relies not only on graphics and lovely characters, but on its ecological message. Pixar’s first political film is also its most powerful one. 0
Wanted Podcast Wanted might not be another Matrix, but it’s definitely a respectable shoot-‘em-up film about an average Joe who turns into a deadly assassin. It might be a bit cliché with the story, but it has plenty of style, action and humor, and please don’t think too much about The Fraternity’s ways because the more you think about it, the less it makes sense. 0
Kung Fu Panda Podcast DreamWorks Animation keeps doing the right things! Kung Fu Panda is a fine example of where this division of the movie giant is going—basically to compete against Pixar. Greg C and Narman talk about this film: the praise it and recommend it. 0
Get Smart Podcast We do disagree! Greg C says "permission granted" and Nar says "enter at your own risk" 0
The Incredible Hulk Podcast Review Despite those small complains, The Incredible Hulk will not disappoint Marvel fans (heck! Even Tony Stark is here). Its faithfulness to the TV series is what makes the film much interesting and entertaining that the 2003 version that every Marvel employee wants to forget. 0
The Happening Podcast Review For the first time, we are out of the studio and recording on our favorite diner! Greg C talks to Narman about “The Happening”. We tell it like it is. 0
The Strangers Movie Review Loud with plenty of cheap thrills, The Strangers is a slasher film that doesn’t have any brains and borrows from others. 0
Sex and the City Fans of the series will love this reunion, but the male audience might want to be somewhere else. 0
I.J and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Permission granted. Despite some weakness in the animation department and Indy’s enemies, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an entertaining sequel that all the family will enjoy. 0
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Its “family friendly” battle sequences, lack of soul and storytelling ruin the experience. 0
Speed Racer Movie Review Proceed with caution. Speed Racer starts his powerful engine and takes off very fast, but after half an hour into the race, he shifts to first gear and looses momentum until the end of the race. ...click the poster for full review. 0
Harold/Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay Permission Grated. Despite some distastefulness, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay is an entertaining film that shows the new adventures of these two dysfunctional friends who just want to smoke weed. 0
Prom Night One of the worst Horror films of 2008, Prom Night is dumb and forgettable. 0
Iron Man Movie Review The greatness of this superhero film relies on Robert Downey Jr. who brings charisma and humanity to his character. Greg C recommends Iron Man. A great summer film. 0
Deception Movie Review Deception is a total disappointment by being boring and predictable. Despite the great cast, this thriller has more plot holes and scenes that you can see them coming from a mile away. Greg C still gives an excellent Podcast show. 0
Baby Mama - Movie Review A Lame SNL-style comedy about Kate and her obsession to become pregnant. One of the worst comedies of 2008 and Greg C has the guts to tell it like it is. 0
